While it is easy to spot the most visible types of mold and large mold infestations, which can usually be seen or smelled, keep in mind that mold may also grow in places that are hard for you to access and view. Areas such as in ductwork, crawl spaces, or even behind the walls. Mold may also form colonies so tiny; they are not visible to the naked eye.
A thorough visual inspection of your home will be done looking for any and all obvious signs of mold and moisture, especially looking in any hard-to-reach spaces. We use moisture detection equipment, such as an infrared camera, a moisture meter, and a hydrometer. Our expertise and construction knowledge also helps us to determine the areas of risk.
We’ll be looking at items and areas around the home where mold tends to grow. Furniture, sink cabinets, attics, basement, and crawl spaces, anywhere that mold grows. The inspector will also check dusty areas as dust is also an organic material, which is a perfect food source for mold.
